Test Pumping in Nairutia, Kieni
Our team recently conducted a test pumping exercise in Nairutia, Kieni, to assess the yield and sustainability of a newly drilled borehole. This process was essential in determining the borehole’s capacity to provide a reliable water supply for the local farming community, which depends on irrigation and livestock rearing. The test pumping involved a step-drawdown test and a constant rate test to evaluate the aquifer’s performance and ensure efficient water extraction. Water levels and discharge rates were carefully monitored to determine the optimal pumping capacity while preventing over-extraction. The results confirmed a steady and sustainable water yield, making the borehole suitable for both agricultural and domestic use. This test was a crucial step in ensuring the long-term viability of the project, providing the necessary data for selecting the appropriate pump and water management strategies. By delivering precise and reliable test pumping services, River Best Kenya continues to support communities in water-scarce areas like Nairutia with sustainable and high-quality water solutions.
